Meet the Artist
Alfredo is a contemporary photographer with 25 years of experience, and more than ninety exhibitions to his credit across 5 continents. Land art is his primary focus as his passion lies in landscapes, specifically the desert. He’s travelled to the world’s most extreme deserts performing art interventions in the landscape, setting scenes with a variety of elements, both natural and manipulated. In the middle of the sometimes-oppressive vastness of the desert, he’s built and photographed intimate spaces; some serving as metaphors of the painful desertification of the planet caused by man, and others function as ironic allusions to humans’ relationship with desert. He is also the founder of a non-profit organization Luz del Norte dedicated to promoting and disseminating the diversity of Latin American photography through various platforms.
