Meet the Artist

Eszter is a textile artist and university professor whose creative journey began in the Hungarian countryside, immersed in the country’s rich folk traditions. Inspired by her grandmother, who handcrafted textiles for their home, she began working with fibers at a young age. Her passion led her to pursue a PhD in textiles, where she honed both her craft and passion for showcasing the beauty of Hungarian folk art.

Eszter’s work is a playful exploration of color, structure, and texture, blending traditional techniques with modern twists. She has reimagined motifs and two traditional Hungarian weaving methods: the pibione technique, which creates intricate patterns with tiny loops, and a modernized floating technique that allows both sides of her rugs to be functional. Her creations range from rugs to wall hangings and framed textiles, all functional and beautiful, designed to bring people closer to their cultural roots.

Eszter views art as a way to keep the inner child alive—curious, open, and playful. She is excited to share her passion for Hungarian folk textiles, guiding you through techniques that help embrace and reinterpret your own cultural heritage through design.
