Meet the Artist
Isadora is an internationally exhibited Mexican artist specializing in ceramics and sculpture. Trained in stone carving, metal sculpture, and printmaking, her journey with ceramics deepened through extensive field research across Mexico’s pottery communities. From Chiapas to Baja California, she has collaborated with artisans to build a profound connection and understanding of the diversity of clays—how they are gathered, shaped, and fired—, broadening her vision of the material and allowing her to integrate traditional techniques with contemporary aesthetics. Living between Mexico City and Mérida, she moves fluidly between urban energy and rural tranquility, using clay as a medium to bridge landscapes.
At the core of Isadora’s work is an exploration of structures—both external and internal. She creates visible structures that invite introspection, allowing viewers to imagine themselves inside or to navigate them through their gaze and imagination. Her sculptures emphasize the intrinsic qualities of clay, focusing on form and materiality without glazes, just natural clay tones and oxide. She values the rhythm of hand-building, giving time to reflect on each piece and engage in the process. Experimenting with negative and positive space, she interacts with her environment, drawing inspiration from nature’s patterns in a continual process of repetition, exploration, and reinterpretation.
Isadora believes that the connection of clay with the four elements brings us closer to our primal essence, a place from which multiple artistic languages can emerge. She looks forward to creating a sensory experience through clay and exploring its role as a receptor of emotions and imprints, guiding you in the joy of discovery through clay.

Explore Mérida, Yucatán
Isadora’s studio is located just outside Mérida, in the tranquil pueblo of Cholul, offering a slower, more intimate glimpse into Yucatán life while remaining within easy reach of the capital’s cultural vibrancy. Once a Mayan settlement, Cholul retains its village charm with leafy streets, family-run tortillerías, and a central plaza where locals gather in the evenings. Once a hub for henequen (agave) production, Cholul has become a haven for creatives, with vibrant community life shaped by religious festivals, local markets, and gathering spaces. Its proximity to Mérida’s colonial grandeur, thriving arts scene, as well as to the region’s cenotes, ancient Mayan ruins, and flamingo-dotted reserves makes Cholul an inspiring base for exploring the peninsula.

Additional Details
The best time to visit Cholul is during the dry season (November–April) when the weather is cooler, drier, and ideal for exploring nearby cultural sites. For a particularly vibrant experience, consider visiting during Hanal Pixán (late October–early November), a traditional Day of the Dead celebration, or Mérida Fest in January, which marks the city’s founding with music, dance, and art exhibitions. The wet and hurricane season (May–October) is best avoided, as it brings intense heat, high humidity, heavy rains, and the risk of severe storms.
