Meet the Artist
Juan is a Colombia-born woodworker and architect. Growing up in a school dedicated to self-sufficiency, music, and math, he started tinkering with wood and tools at a young age. He made his first cabinet at 12 years old, which still serves its purpose in his mother's kitchen. After training as an architect and instructor in basic joinery, Juan now combines his skills, creating beautiful furniture pieces and teaching woodworking.
For Juan, the beauty of woodworking lies in the process. He believes that every piece he creates is a unique opportunity to explore new techniques, solve technical challenges, and push the boundaries of his creativity. His diverse design background and experiences have given him a deep interest in process design and problem-solving. He is also passionate about sharing his knowledge and loves the element of surprise that comes from interacting with others.
Currently based in Barcelona, Juan is part of a vibrant community of designers and makers, where he shares space and technology while developing his projects. With his passion for craftsmanship and love for sharing knowledge, you'll find inspiration to last a long time.
