Meet the Artist
Today, Myrto continues to follow her ancestor’s clay tradition in Athens, Greece where she lives with her two children. Myrto works with slabs of clay and hand builds her ceramics. She has immense knowledge of throwing techniques, glazing and experimenting with different clay techniques. Myrto’s two passions are clay and people, and she delights in sharing her knowledge of materials and form with guests, and displaying how the memory of an interaction, the colors of her country and the playfulness of children are all a part of what she creates.

I throughly enjoyed my time with Myrto. I had done some hand building before, but she taught me so many new skills and techniques. She had so many little tricks that were so helpful for me. Myrto was so accommodating and very open to helping me make anything of my choice. She gave me the confidence to step out my comfort zone and try new things, which I once would have thought too difficult. She Read more

I would highly recommend Myrto’s classes, she was generous with ceramic information, taught to our very different skill sets. Thank you Myrto for your knowledge that you shared with us, for your patience and for the food you provided for us to share. Plus all the tourist tips you gave us were helpful while we were in Athens.

I honestly am speechless. This experience was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I am so happy that Myrto accepted my booking and I’m so glad I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to try her workshop. Not only was the workshop fascinating and informative but also, Myrto’s was so inspirational and so welcoming and humble. She makes everything look easy but she teaches you so so well a Read more

Myrto is an absolutely amazing person! Working with her in ceramics introduced me to a whole new world. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the local area and restaurants and has great music taste. :)
The whole experience was memorable, from learning the basic techniques to having a go at wheel throwing. I was immediately looking up pottery studios for me to go to back home.Elena K., United States
Myrto went above and beyond as both a ceramics teacher and ambassador of Athens. I made some items inspired by her work, others by ancient pottery at the museums she recommended me to, and so many thought-provoking conversations about art, art therapy and beyond.
