Painting The Wild Feminine Awake

Join VAWAA artist Clare for two powerful sessions working with the core concept of expansiveness and art being a means of freeing our unlimited vital force. We'll use primal acts of drawing and painting to harvest our infinite energy. The two consecutive sessions will take place on March 21st and March 28th, 11am-1pm EST.

Clare will begin with a dense drawing exercise that you'll expand out into a large expressive piece, creating the change you want to BE in this world by unlocking the fear-tension-pain that's buzzing all around us!

We'll create a small figure in the center of our large work surface, and fill it with all the negativity that we've been bombarded with in the collective consciousness. Then, Clare will guide us through visualization, intention and wild mark-making exercises to unlock this compact 'self' into the expressive living soul that is meant to be dancing on this earth, in the Eternal Now.

You can work in any medium and all levels are welcome. There will be plenty of time to share, get feedback and meet other participants from around the world.

What you'll need

• A large 4ft. x 4ft. work surface. Paper, cardboard, canvas...etc are all fine.
  
  
• Your favorite colors, some pencils or ink pens to do the initial drawing.
  
  
• Collage materials or layers to build up the strata of the painting.

About Clare

Clare is an artist based in the medieval quarter of a charming Italian town that she brought to worldwide attention through her original cultural activities. Trained in Scotland's two most prestigious art schools, Clare's art is in international collections around the world. She works in both oil and acrylic, and often uses reclaimed surfaces. She interweaves personal and archetypal, working meditatively with color, layers, story and depth of meaning. She has a passionate interest in our immense creative potential; in how we can use art to know ourselves, and thus heal and transform our lives.
