I had a wonderful time learning about natural dyeing and backstrap loom weaving with Olga! My goals for this trip were to learn a new artform, explore a new country, and immerse myself in the local culture, and all of these were accomplished through my VAWAA. Olga is very knowledgeable and kind, and adapted the studio sessions to my personal interests. I learned how to achieve a wide range of colors through the natural dyeing process, and feel confident enough with what I learned that I can continue to practice natural dyeing on my own. Olga also brought in a weaving master from San Antonio Aguas Calientes to teach me to weave on the backstrap loom, which was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
