I chose to go on a VAWAA because I wanted to deepen my skills in ceramics and pottery, specifically with the goal of incorporating these techniques into the classes I teach with children. I believe hands-on art experiences are incredibly valuable for young learners, and I was eager to bring something new and creative to my classroom. By learning from an experienced artist like Katja, I hoped to gain practical knowledge and inspiration that I could share with my students, helping them explore their own creativity through ceramics. This experience allowed me to do just that, and I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned back to my students. I'm also looking forward to developing my own work further. Also, I completely fell in love with Slovenia and I can't wait to return!
