I have been wanting to go on a VAWAA for years, and finally took the opportunity to extend a work trip to Europe to spend a week in Barcelona making art. I am mostly self-taught in a tiny fraction of printmaking techniques, so I was excited to learn from Roser in her studio. My hopes for my VAWAA were to learn, have fun, and experience life in a city I've always wanted to visit. This trip ticked all of those boxes.

I learned so much about ink, paper, different printmaking techniques, and the work of a professional artist and printmaker. I got to work large, and explore shape, color, and composition. Roser was a fantastic teacher and collaborator. Her studio was full of inspiration, both with her own work and the objects she's collected from her travels.

I loved exploring Roser's beautiful neighborhood, especially with her excellent recommendations of places to eat and sights to see. This trip was a reminder of how much I need to regularly feed my creative spirit with travel and making. I honestly think VAWAA is the best way to do both. I rave about VAWAA to everyone I talk to about this trip. I can't wait to take another Vacation with an Artist!
