I signed up for a tour in Hokkaido, Japan. My tour started in Sapporo so I looked for a VAWAA artist in Sapporo. I found Koko as a weaving teacher and so I was excited to sign up with her! My time with Koko was a perfect introduction to a new language and culture. This was my second trip with VAWAA.

The result was a beautiful handwoven wool scarf. I learned some new weaving techniques and finishing techniques from Koko.  I felt like an artist creating and collaborating with Koko as mentor and a new friend. I was honoured to receive one on one instruction in her studio.
