I decided to do a VAWAA with Susana as I’m a mostly self-taught artist but had fond memories of attending one-on-one classes with a local artist when I was younger, and wanted more instruction to scale up my work.

I felt a lot of freedom to explore and everything she shared with me was incredibly valuable. Whenever I was painting and she came in and gave me some direction it was like she was handing me a key to unlock some fantastic new ability.

I now feel much more confident creating large pieces of work, and am beyond excited to see what I can do as I begin set design work in the coming months.
