My first VAWAA experience could not have been dreamier! Katja is an incredible teacher and a wonderful host who made me feel so welcome throughout my time in Križe. In the week we spent together, she generously shared her vast knowledge of ceramics and gave me a whole new understanding and appreciation of working with clay. 

The sessions were highly personalized to my own interests and goals, and she gently encouraged me to push past the boundaries of what I believed myself to be capable of. Our cozy days in the studio were filled with creativity, laughter, thoughtful conversations, delicious homemade treats, great music, and even better company. In between these sessions, Katja was an excellent local guide who kindly introduced me to the natural, cultural, and culinary wonders of Slovenia. From beginning to end, this experience was the loveliest. 

It was a real privilege to spend such dedicated time with an artist as talented as Katja, and working with her has left me with the skills, confidence, and enthusiasm to continue my own ceramics journey on a deeper level—something I’ll always feel grateful for. I feel very fortunate to now call her a mentor and friend.
