I was looking for a different type of learning experience with quilting and esp. Gee's Bend quilters. The one on one attention that we were able to get on this trip was perfect. I wanted to really learn about the quilters' techniques, and how they approach color and design, and they certainly came through.

The result was that I made a beautiful quilt in collaboration with my teachers. (and also was introduced to some very important history of this country). I really feel that this experience will definitely help me grow as an improvisational quilter, and as a person.
