My goal for this time away was to reconnect with and redevelop my creative side. Although I had done a fair amount of painting and drawing in charcoal when younger, I knew absolutely nothing about screen printing. Rosanna spent time acquainting me with the studio and the process of screen printing. After we discussed potential projects and identified a general direction for scarf design, we set out to gather inspiration in Brighton. The most amazing source was the Brighton Pavilion — originally the Royal Pavilion built by George IV. It was an unexpected feast for the eyes! We returned to the studio and began designing in earnest and working to finalize the concept, content and composition; we prepared the screens, purchased a variety of fabrics, and ultimately printed 5 scarves.
