I went on a VAWAA because I was looking for a more meaningful way to travel - one where I’m creating and interacting, and not just consuming. I love textile arts and beaches and was looking to combine the two. Art wise, I was hoping to buff up my quilting skills - learning more of the technical aspects for putting together and finishing quilts. I loved my week with Regina! She was very attentive about how to get what I wanted out of the experience. I was expecting to learn some techniques and get sparked in my ideas and ended up walking away with 3 new quilted pieces, some of which I plan to turn into full quilts and some beautiful dyed fabric. It was nice to have the dedicated time, Regina’s expertise and nice company to focus on building my own quilting projects. Also lovely to take an ocean dip every evening and explore a cool, art-filled city.
