I went on this trip, because I wanted to learn more about the abstractions and color organizations in the Gees Bend quilts. I achieved to do a quilt with Loretta and Marlene, alongside other small little sewing projects. Most importantly, I was able to just sit with them and listen to them talk sbout their artistic process and share my own process with them.

This will change my approach to art making 10000%. It is so incredible meeting these humble artists who are incredible color and composition making masters. I will definitely be back!
