I went on this VAWAA because I really wanted to learn the process of digging and processing wild clay. There is clay in the banks for the Fraser River near where I live and I wanted to explore how I might be able to use it in the future. Besides, I've always wanted to go to Oaxaca! I feel much more knowledgeable now about how to process wild clay. I know my situation will be different back in Vancouver, but the essential steps are similar. Of course, I have read about and watched YouTube videos about sourcing and using wild clay, but to be able to do it with someone who has decades of experience like Macrina was a real privilege. Macrina is a master artisan.
