Canada > > > with Majo in Mexico

My goal was to stretch myself as a hand-builder, stepping away from the wheel to explore more expressive and experimental forms. Majo suggested creative exercises that encouraged reflection and helped me translate personal themes into sculptural concepts. Her wide-ranging experience with multiple arts such as ceramics, textiles, dance and design, broadened my approach and her technical skills with slab, pinch, and coil building, allowed me to push boundaries and experiment with unconventional shapes. I had planned to focus on ceramics, but decided to also explore natural fabric dyeing using flowers and plants we found on Majo’s beautiful property. This was an unanticipated delight!
