Jimena is a master jewelry designer who combines fine art with the traditional jewelry craft. She honed her skills at prestigious design schools in Barcelona and Florence and now runs her own studio and a jewelry school in Buenos Aires. In addition, she curates and lectures in Argentina and abroad.
Jimena is passionate about creating jewelry that can be worn and cherished forever. She is inspired by Milagros (ritual jewelry used for protection and miracles) as much as the traditional techniques of gold, silversmithing, and stone settings. She enjoys combining jewelry with unexpected materials like textiles to create unique pieces that share a message of love, commitment, and friendship. Her designs are a reminder that jewelry has always been a way for people to communicate and express themselves.

VAWAA Includes:
- Create wearable, historical, ritual jewelry or a collection.
- Introduction to basic jewelry techniques like sawing, stone setting, construction, texturing, casting, wax carving, etc.
- Develop your own language through creative exercises.
- Work with different kinds of metals and learn how to combine metals or other materials.
- Make different typologies of wearable jewelry (rings, necklaces, earrings).
- Join any focused workshops at Jimena’s school, like the history of jewelry, enamel, chiseling, and drawing, and meet other local students and artists.
- Visit the jewelry supplies area in the city center where the traditional makers still make and repair jewelry.
- If time permits, an option to visit the Immigration museum to see the permanent collection; Pompeya Church, where you can still find religious jewelry; Tango concerts, music that inspires Jimena’s work; or the Bolivian market with traditional food and ritual objects.
- All tools and materials like copper, brass, wax, and some stones are included. Silver, gold, or specific stones can be bought in the studio for an additional fee.

Additional Details
The best time to visit Buenos Aires is during spring (September–October) and winter (June–July) as you'll enjoy the best weather for outdoor activities. The end of December–January gets very hot and most of the museums and shops are closed.
