Before the pandemic, I was a writer. I suppose I still am, but when words failed me, I turned to collage. A friend's online classes got me started, and little by little I turned my attention to the visual arts, specifically collage. I have always enjoyed viewing art while traveling, but adding a studio component to this experience deepens the travel experience. I've thought of traveling with VAWAA as a 2-pronged experience: See art. Make art. But now after my second VAWAA, after having met Annette in Greece, and Tessa in the Netherlands, it's even something more than that.
