I was spending three months in Lisbon and decided to try my first VAWAA experience. I had done some weaving before, so I already came with some knowledge, but I wanted to learn specific traditional Portuguese weaving techniques. Andreia is incredibly skilled, kind and generous. She is such an easygoing and calm person, with so much experience in weaving and other textile art forms. We spent four lovely days together, and I left with two beautiful tapestries, as well as a lot of new knowledge about traditional weaving techniques and different ways of creating patterns. Her materials are incredible, and the loom is really beautiful and well equipped. The space is quiet, peaceful and clean, and I felt completely comfortable throughout the experience. More than anything, I loved how naturally we connected, and by the end of our VAWAA experience, I felt like we had genuinely become friends. I’m so happy that I’ll be continuing to take classes with Andreia now that I’m moving to Lisbon. I couldn’t recommend this experience more highly!
