Priscilla

I was interested in sharing a unique experience with my daughter.  We both enjoy expressing our creativity with needle and thread.  I was looking for an experience that would be inspiring, creative and incorporate some history. I remember seeing the Gee's Bend exhibit at the Philadelphia Art Museum with mother 20 years ago.  I lost her not too long ago, and this experience was a way to honor her memory.

The best part about this experience was creating a quilt out of items that were connected to my mother in some way.  I used things she sewed, bought, wore...I will cherish my quilt always.  I am a quilter and learned a new way to approach my craft. I will use my new experience and knowledge to further express my art.
