I stumbled upon VAWAA through a google search. I'm a painter and I wanted to learn how to turn my artwork into textile Sculpture. I had tried many techniques but nothing felt right. I had a vision of going to morocco and learning the berber knot, and decided that I was going to prioritise this experience. I took time away from my family, husband and 1.5 yr old to do something for myself, which I hadn't done in 2 years. There was a lot of weight going into this experience and it absolutely delivered. I learned so much and gained so much inspiration that I plan on going back and working with Shane and his team for a little artist in residence for a few weeks in the near future.
