I had just been laid off and needed to experience something new, somewhere new. I wanted to learn a craft that didn't require sitting in front of a computer and allowed me to engage and be out in the world. I didn't expect that I'd create anything that I might actually be proud of, which was ok as that wasn't really the goal for me. BUT in the end I really loved what I created and will always have it as a reminder of how important it is to try something new.
